People behind the progress

Success Stories

Real change, in the words of the people who lived it.

Behind every project are young people and families whose lives are changing. These stories, shared with their permission, show what becomes possible when people have access to skills, information and opportunity.

Restoring Hope to Flood-Affected Households in Nkhata Bay District

With financial support from AfriAus ILEAC in Australia, Youth Empowerment Towards Development (YETOD) provided emergency relief to over 40 households affected by the April 2024 floods in Nkhata Bay District, Malawi. The organisation distributed essential food items, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and sanitation supplies to vulnerable families in Senior Chief Malanda and Traditional Authority Fukamalaza. The initiative highlighted the importance of locally led humanitarian action and strong partnerships in restoring hope, promoting community resilience and supporting disaster recovery.

Speaking up

Advocacy

Speaking up with young people on the issues that shape their futures.

We speak up with and for young people on the issues that matter to them, from access to education and health services to economic opportunity and gender equality.

Our advocacy is grounded in community voices and works alongside local leaders and partners to influence the decisions that affect young people.
